The House of Illustration is the world’s first dedicated home for the art of illustration; from adverts to animation, picture books to political cartoons and scientific drawings to fashion design.

“This country needs the exciting House of Illustration to put illustration in its rightful place alongside all the other Arts that inspire, tell stories, communicate ideas, express emotions and give pleasure.”

Anthony Browne – Children’s Laureate 2009 – 2011

We put on exhibitions, run competitions and organise events with some of the country’s leading illustrators. We also work in schools across London through our PICTURE IT education programme. Our main ambition is to create a permanent home to celebrate the past, present and future of illustration.

Please sign up for regular updates so that we can let you know about our plans. We’d love to hear your thoughts, so please email us your feedback.
