Our most recent exhibition is What Are You Like? Based on a Victorian parlour game, each contributor described themselves with images of their favourite things. 45 people in the public eye were invited to create a self-revealing artwork and illustrated their 8 favourite things from a list of 12: their favourite animal, book, item of clothing, comfort, food, pastime, place, possession, music, shoes, weather and pet aversion (the thing they love to hate!) The result is a delightfully idiosyncratic exhibition.
To give visitors a chance to guess who did what, the artists’ names did not appear on the artworks in the gallery. But there was a crib sheet on hand, should vistors need some help…
This exhibition was shown at Dulwich Picture Gallery during 2008 and received over 18,500 visitors there. In 2009 it toured to Manchester Art Gallery , where it received over 21,000 visitors, and Wingfield Barns, Suffolk. During 2010, the exhibition has toured to Hay Festival and will be shown at Durham Art Gallery from 24th July to 5th September 2010.
