We are absolutely delighted to announce that from today our education space will become The Clore Studio at House of Illustration. It will be the UK’s only learning space that focuses on promoting and celebrating illustration, and one of 10 new Clore Learning Spaces created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Clore Duffield Foundation.
Colin McKenzie, Director, House of Illustration says “Today we are celebrating the extraordinary generosity of the Clore Duffield Foundation which has announced its funding of a Clore Studio at House of Illustration. Learning through illustration is a particularly exciting and important part of our work, and our inspiring new space will enable us to introduce not just young people but learners of all ages, to the transformative power of the arts in general and illustration in particular. The Clore Duffield Foundation is synonymous with the highest standards of education in the arts so it is a particular source of pride to us that our new space will carry the Clore name.”
The Clore Studio will be a flexible, creative learning space, able to be used as a cinema or a gallery, a messy studio workshop or a lecture room. It will host our new in-house learning programme, with a wide range of different activities for schools, illustrators, teachers, families, community groups and adult learners, demonstrating the huge range and breadth of illustration as an art form.
