Quentin Blake: A Retrospective is a rare chance to buy an original work by the UK’s most celebrated illustrator.

Some 178 pieces from Blake’s personal collection will go on sale and the proceeds will be generously donated to House of Illustration, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity and Survival International.

This will be the biggest ever sale of Blake’s work, and the only sale to feature a large number of illustrations spanning the breadth of his 40-year career.

Dates for your diary

  • 3-12 July: 148 illustrations up for auction online.

  • 7-10 July: Blake's illustrations on public display at Christie’s in King Street, London SW1Y 6QT.

  • Monday 9 July 6-8pm: join us at Christie’s Late, a free open evening and your chance to see Blake’s illustrations while enjoying drinks, music and specialist talks.

  • Wednesday 11 July 5.30pm: 30 illustrations up for auction at Christie's, as part of their live Valuable Books and Manuscripts sale.

How to get involved

  • Browse the lots – 148 original illustrations are being auctioned online from 3-12 July.

  • Go and see the work on show – an exhibition of Blake's illustrations is open to the public at Christie’s in London from 7-10 July.

  • Join us for Christie’s Late – on Monday 9 July between 6-8pm Christie's will hold a free open evening with art, music and specialist talks.

  • Come and see the live auction– on Wednesday 11 July from 5.30pm 30 works will be auctioned live at Christie's and anyone can come along or bid online/on the phone!
