Volunteers' Week

To mark the end of Volunteers' Week, we'd like to introduce you to some of our wonderful volunteers.

Last week was Volunteers' Week and we turned part of the House of Illustration shop into a volunteers' goods stall, showcasing the wealth of talent our volunteers - many of whom are illustrators - have to offer.  As they worked across our three galleries, helped on education workshops or on our events, we grabbed a few of them to find out which illustrators inspire them. Here's their list, supplemented by a few quick drawings of their own...

Favourite illustrator: I’m still a big fan of Arthur Rackham. At home I have a copy of his A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I’ve never read the full play but I love to look at eth illustrations. I’m, not sure I have the patience to so much detail but I always find it inspiring to see someone who did.
