House of Illustration’s in-school workshops use illustration to teach subjects across the primary curriculum in fun, fresh and creative ways. Delivered in your classroom, they are tailored to your topic, text, curriculum area or scheme of work, delivered by professional illustrator-educators and rated good or excellent by 100% of teachers. They support students’ confidence, creativity, communication, fine motor skills and wellbeing.

Workshop options

Character Design

Create characters from text descriptions – just let us know the book you’re studying. Or invent exciting brand new characters from imagination. Great for Humanities and English/Literacy.

Sequential Illustration

Depict life cycles, scientific processes or a series of events. Create and tell a visual story or create a visual version of an existing text. Great for Science, Humanities and English/Literacy.

Creating Mood and Atmosphere

Explore techniques to convey the feeling and setting from a specific text. Great for Humanities and English/Literacy.

Booking information


Workshops available Monday to Friday

Morning workshop: 10.15am – 11.45pm

Afternoon workshop: 12.30pm – 2.00pm

Please get in touch if your lesson times vary from this so we can adjust times to suit your school.


We are currently only able to arrange workshops in London.

Group sizes

Each workshop can accommodate up to 30 students.


State schools: £295 for two classes in one day

Independent schools: £550 for two classes in one day
