Adult Masterclass: Fashion Illustration

Explore form, line and colour with fashion illustrator Montana Forbes

When, Where

Join us this February for a workshop encouraging a bold and fun expression of experimental ideas, aiming to expand narrow views of fashion and illustration.

Creating fashion illustrations relies upon exploring forms such as the human body or an item of clothing. It also requires experimenting with line to depict texture or the silhouette of a garment, as well as developing a great sense of colour and learning how to apply it to illustration.

As a practitioner, Montana spends time rummaging through vintage stores, taking notes from the trends of past decades and selecting items to draw from. Immersing herself in other creative fields such as film, music and art are also an essential part of her process and as a teacher, Montana stresses the importance of studying individual styles as well as developing a knowledge of high street fashion styles
