Adult Masterclass: Medical Illustration

Delve into the fascinating world of medical illustration. Explore a practice that has been around for thousands of years, and is at the cutting edge of contemporary illustration practice.

When, Where

Taking you on a drawn tour through the human body, join award-winning medical artist Merlin Strangeway as she guides you below the surface of our skin, into the bumps, lumps, and fibrous tissues that makes up our physical selves.

Participants will work directly from specimens, models and a wide variety of historical and contemporary reference materials to create a series of illustrations throughout the day. We will explore human anatomy (in particular osteology), visualising pathologies, surgical instruments, and patient care.

No drawing experience is necessary, just a curious mind. All art materials will be provided though participants are invited to bring sketchbooks.
