Adult Masterclass: Rough Out a Mini Picture Book with Claire Alexander

Learn the secrets of illustrating a picture book and make a rough mini book of your own.

When, Where

Claire will explain how to tell a simple story with dynamic pictures, showing students how she went about illustrating The Snowbear by Sean Taylor.

Students will learn about relevant layouts, composition and pace, as well as how to build drama, what points to illustrate in a story and how to go about doing so.

Using a simple given poem, you’ll create your own 16-page thumbnail storyboard which can be transformed into a mini book dummy. You will also learn more about Claire’s own work and find out how to present ideas to publishers.
