House of Illustration is happy to present a series of family workshops delivered in British Sign Language and spoken English. On the first Saturday of the month August – November, step into the world of illustration through gallery exploration and making with wonderful workshop leader Christopher Sacre.
The first workshop in the series is inspired by our current exibition, Enid Marx: Print, Pattern and Popular Art. Children and their families will have the chance to create their own beautiful pattered prints to take home with them at the end of the day.
Christopher Sacre is an artist and workshop leader who specialises in providing fully accessible and fun creative activities to deaf people and their families. Christopher established SEE and CREATE and co-runs to The Mess Room in Kent. SEE and CREATE was initiated to ensure all family members could participate in creative workshops on an equal footing, no matter their primary means of communication. The Mess Room is a space dedicated to workshops and accessible arts activities that the whole community can participate in.
All materials provided – just buy a ticket below and turn up! We will start at 10.30 but feel free to drop in and out of the workshop once we’ve got going.
