Family Workshop: Memory and Mark-Making

Make your own drawing tools and experiment with mark-making this September

When, Where

Be inspired by our current exhibition, Jaqueline Ayer: Drawing on Thailand and visit your own personal memories. Children and their families will draw on places important to them and invent their own innovative drawing tools in this session exploring the freedom of mark-making, with graphic designer and illustrator Amanda Wayne.

Using a photocopied photo brought in from home, we'll be cutting and pasting shapes to form fragments of colour which can be drawn over to mimic the illustrative style of children's book illustrator Jacqueline Ayer.

Be inventive, create expressive marks, and collage from personal memories in this fun messy workshop. Includes entry to all exhibitions open on the day.

Have you booked your place? Please remember to bring along a photo from home for us to photocopy. It can be from a holiday, a family portrait or picture of a place. Anything with a clear and memorable subject to work from.
