Get a bite-size one-day taster of our popular Illustrating People course with illustrator and educator Sion Ap Tomos.
You’ll cover key aspects of illustrating people through a combination of engaging practical exercises and short illustrated presentations. Working from both photographic reference and the imagination, you’ll experiment with ways of depicting people that capture facial expressions and the movement of the body.
Sion will teach technical know-how on things like proportion while also sharing hints and tips on illustrating posture, character and age with imagination and creativity.
If you’d like to bring any preferred drawing materials and an A4 or A3 sketchbooks, you’re welcome to do so but it’s not essential.
Please note: this masterclass is for those aged 18+ only.
About the tutor:
Sion Ap Tomos has been drawing, illustrating and teaching for over 20 years. He has extensive experience illustrating people and has enjoyed depicting the well-known, the less well-known, figures from history and characters conjured from his imagination. He is a graduate of Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and the Royal College of Art.
