In an age of digitally mediated images and 24-hour rolling news, can reportage artists contribute to our perceptions of politics, conflict and society?

Gary Embury, senior lecturer in illustration at the University of the West of England and editor of, introduces his new book Reportage Illustration: Visual Journalism, co-authored with Professor Mario Minichiello. 

Joining him to discuss the role of reportage drawing in interpreting contemporary events will be leading exponents of the practice: Lucinda Rogers, Olivier Kugler, Tim Vyner, Jill Gibbon and former Senior Art Director of The Times, Martin Harrison.

Ticket includes the expert panel discussion followed by drinks and the chance to meet the artists. There will also be the opportunity to see Lucinda Rogers' current exhibition, On Gentrificationin its final week
