Join us at the launch of Threads from the Refugee Crisis for a panel discussion about refugee narratives and illustration.

Threads from the Refugee Crisis is a new book by artist and activist Kate Evans comprising graphic reportage from the refugee camps of Northern France. The panel will discuss reportage and the issues around documenting and illustrating narratives. The event will include an introduction to House of Illustration's 2018 exhibition on refugees.

On the panel will be:

Kate Evans
Cartoonist, artist, activist and mother, whose previous books include Red Rosa: a graphic biography of Rosa Luxemburg, as well as Funny Weather, a graphic guide to climate change, Copse, about environmental protest, The Food of Love, on breastfeeding and Bump, about pregnancy and birth. More information.

Majid Adin
Illustrator, animator and Iranian political refugee.

Karrie Fransman
Comic creator whose comics have been commissioned by The Guardian, The Times, Time Out, The Telegraph, The New Statesman, Psychologies Magazine, The Arts Council and for The British Red Cross. Her graphic novels 'The House That Groaned' and the award winning 'Death of the Artist' were published by Penguin Random House. More information.

Olivier Kugler 
Olivier Kugler is a London-based reportage illustrator whose influences include French/Belgian bande desinées and Otto Dix. More information.
