Trustee vacancies

We are looking for up to four new Trustees – apply by 11 March.

House of Illustration, soon to become the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, is seeking to appoint several new Trustees.

This is a pivotal moment for the charity as we transform disused heritage buildings in Clerkenwell into the national centre for illustration: a dynamic space, the only one of its kind in the UK, where everyone can come to explore the vitality and variety of illustration.

Our trustees are passionate advocates, expert advisers and critical friends who share our values of compassion, curiosity, equality, relevance and rigour.

Who we're looking for

Given our capital project, and with several long-serving trustees coming to the end of their tenure, we would especially value more input on gallery and museum leadership, education, property, growing fundraising networks, legal matters and intellectual property.

House of Illustration champions art that is dynamic, diverse and inclusive. We want our Board to reflect that. We are especially keen to hear from people who identify as D/deaf or disabled, LGBQTIA+, of African, Caribbean, Central Asian, East Asian, South Asian, South East Asian or West Asian heritage and/or are under 35.

Please download our Board Recruitment Pack for further information. You are welcome to contact us before applying if you have any questions.

How to apply

To express your interest, please send a short letter or video introducing yourself, along with a CV or LinkedIn profile, to by 11 March 2022.
