SEN School Illustrator in Residence
House of Illustration is looking for an enthusiastic Illustrator-Educator to work as a freelancer from January – Easter 2020. The project will be based in one school for children with moderate to severe learning difficulties. It will run over the period of 10 weeks or 22 school days. Essentially, this is a residency programme designed to mutually benefit the illustrator, the students and the school, and will be tailored to the school’s requirements and needs.
We are looking for an early career illustrator (practicing for 2-5 years) who has experience working with children with disabilities and learning needs. This opportunity is for someone who would like to build on their experience, be a School Illustrator in Residence, grow their skills in workshop planning and delivery and learn to tailor their work to different groups and settings. It is not essential to have years of workshop delivery experience for this role. We are looking for candidates with strong potential, excellent organisational skills, willingness to learn and a friendly and encouraging outlook.
