Reaching your 100th birthday is definitely something to celebrate – but that was hard to do for Phyllis, a resident at Mildmays care home in Islington, who turned 100 during England’s second coronavirus lockdown.
So, as part of our postal poetry collaboration with All Change, we were delighted to add an extra element to the project: an illustrated 100th birthday poem for Phyllis, written by her fellow Mildmays residents with All Change Associate Artist Francesca Beard, and illustrated by Eve Lloyd Knight.
It was printed, framed and presented to Phyllis at a safe distance on her birthday, and you can view it below.
Warning: you might need some tissues.
