We are pleased to announce that the House of Illustration Summer Fair will take place on Saturday 13 July 2019.
Over the last five years of biannual Summer and Winter Fairs, we have built up a reputation for being the ideal place to buy and sell beautiful and diverse work, ranging from prints, publications and illustrated products to decorated ceramics, original artworks and more.
This will be our ninth major fair in King’s Cross. As always, it will be free for the public to attend, with a fixed fee per stand – we charge no commission on sales. Applications for stands are open to all. Whether you’re an early-career creative or an established professional, an illustrator, illustration collective or independent publisher, we want to hear from you.
Indoor Location - The Crossing
The Summer Fair is taking place within the giant enclosed entrance area at the front of the Central St Martins building. We have already successfully used this space to host the 2015 and 2018 Winter Fairs and are delighted to have it again as it offers fantastic light and protection from the elements.
It’s right next to House of Illustration and our previous Summer Fair spot under the Handyside Canopy. It is easy to find, close to the major King’s Cross transport hub and there is good footfall with people visiting nearby Granary Square, Central Saint Martin’s, the flagship Waitrose store and the recently opened Coal Drops Yard – a new shopping street with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants designed by Heatherwick Studio.
A stand costs £89 for the day. We charge no commission on sales.
A stand consists of:
- One standard 6’ x 2.5’ table
- Two vertical wooden batons securing ‘washing lines’ from which lightweight work can be hung at the rear of the stand
- One chair
Set-up begins at 8am and must be completed by 11am when the Fair commences. We ask that you stay until the Fair ends at 5pm.
